Editorial Policy

How we research, write, check and update the content on this site.

Readers should know where our content comes from and how we keep it correct. This page explains our process.

Who writes the content

Articles are published under the Wood Elf Name Generator Editorial Team. We do not use invented author names or fake credentials. If a named contributor is ever added, their real background will appear on their author note.

How names and meanings are made

Name lists and generator results are built from our own set of roots and endings. The meanings are invented for creative use. We say this clearly on pages where it matters. We do not claim that any name is a word in a real or Tolkien-style language.

How we handle facts

When an article states a fact about folklore, a published game or a book, we check it against the primary source where we can, such as the Prose Edda, the published rulebooks or the books themselves. Where rules differ between editions of a game, we say so and tell readers to check their own edition. When we are unsure, we leave the claim out.

Opinions and suggestions

Naming advice, backstory ideas and style suggestions are creative guidance, not rules. We label them as suggestions.

How content is created

Our team plans each article around a real question people ask, such as how to name a ranger or how to say a tricky name. We write in plain US English, review each piece for accuracy and clarity, and add links to related guides so readers can keep going.

Updates and corrections

Every article shows its published date. When we make a meaningful update, we add an updated date. If you spot a mistake, email contact@connectioncafe.us with the page link and what you think is wrong. We review corrections and fix confirmed errors promptly.

Advertising and independence

Our recommendations are not for sale. If we ever add ads, affiliate links or sponsored content, we will label them clearly and keep them separate from our editorial judgment.

AI use

The generator uses fixed word lists and simple rules, not a text-generating AI model. Articles are written and reviewed by people on our team.
